Since the Jubilee of 1300, pilgrims have journeyed to Rome to visit the four Major Papal Basilicas and pass through their Holy Doors—a sacred tradition begun by Pope Boniface VIII. These four basilicas—St. Peter’s, St. Paul Outside the Walls, St. Mary Major, and the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran—are the highest-ranking churches in the world and all lie within the city of Rome.
On this tour, you’ll travel in comfort with private transportation and an expert guide who will provide rich context and spiritual insight at each site. You’ll visit the Basilica of St. Peter in the Vatican, home to Michelangelo’s Pietà and the tomb of the Apostle; St. Paul Outside the Walls, where the remains of St. Paul rest; St. Mary Major, which houses relics of Christ’s Nativity; and the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran, the Cathedral of Rome and mother church of the Catholic faithful.
As you complete this time-honored pilgrimage, you’ll be taking part in a living tradition shared by saints and pilgrims for over 700 years. Spots are limited, so early booking is encouraged.
