Your private walking tour begins just outside Accademia Gallery, where you will meet your expert, local guide.* Here, your guide will usher you into the gallery to see Michelangelo’s David—perhaps the most recognized sculpture in the world—and other timeless artworks by various Renaissance masters.

From the Accademia Gallery, your guide will lead you through Florence’s medieval streets and alleys to the enigmatic Basilica of St. Lawrence (Basilica di San Lorenzo) and into the Medici Chapel, where once prominent members of the Medici family are buried.

As you wind your way through historic Florence, your guide will amuse you with Florentine histories, legends, and tales of local peculiarity. On your journey, you will discover such sites as the Medici Riccardi Palace, Piazza Repubblica, and the New Market Lodge (Loggia del Mercato Nuovo)—where a statue of a wild boar is said to bring luck to those who rub its nose.

Your journey continues to Ponte Vecchio, where artisans and craftsmen have sold their wares for centuries, and still do to this day. From here, your guide will lead you past the Uffizi Gallery, beyond the Old Palace (Palazzo Vecchio) in the gorgeous Piazza della Signoria, and to the breathtaking Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore—commonly referred to as "Il Duomo". Here, at the final destination of your tour, you will have the opportunity for an unguided exploration of the cathedral’s interior.

*Alternatively, this tour begins outside the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore.
