Your walking tour begins in the heart of the city, at Piazza di San Giovanni, where you will meet your expert, local guide. From here, your guide will usher you through Florence’s medieval streets and alleys to the enigmatic Basilica of St. Lawrence (Basilica di San Lorenzo). Here, your guide will regale you with some Medici family history and their involvement with the basilica. 


As you wind your way through historic Florence, you will discover such sites as the Medici Riccardi Palace, the Old Palace (Palazzo Vecchio) in the gorgeous Piazza della Signoria, and the New Market Lodge (Loggia del Mercato Nuovo)—where a statue of a wild boar is said to bring luck to those who rub its nose. 


On your enchanting  journey through the city, your guide will amuse you with Florentine histories, legends, and tales of local peculiarity. Please check-in at the meeting point 10 minutes prior to your scheduled tour time. Tours cannot be delayed for late arrivals, and no refunds will be given for late arrivals or missed tours.

Wear comfortable walking shoes, be sure to dress warmly in colder temperatures, and bring a cover for bare shoulders and knees inside any churches.
