This tour begins near Piramade,* where you will meet your local, expert guide.
Here, you will board a train to Ostia Antica.
Once you have arrived at Ostia Antica, your guide will bring you to the city’s picturesque Necropolis, an ancient graveyard for rich Romans who once lived in this legendary port city.
From the Necropolis, your journey will continue along Ostia Antica’s central road, and to an ancient Roman theater (Teatro d’Ostia), which once seated 3000 people.
Beyond the theater, you will have the opportunity to walk among Ostia Antica’s ancient shops, luxury villas, elegant bath houses, marvelous statues, majestic temples, and strikingly well-preserved mosaics and frescoes.
At the end of your tour, you will return to Rome by train.
*This tour begins at the Roma Porta S. Paolo train station next to the Piramide metro stop.
