This Premier Experience tour begins near the ruins of the Ludus Magnus Gladiator School and continues directly to the Colosseum. Once at the Colosseum, your expert guide will lead you through the Gladiators’ Gate—the same portal through which gladiators once entered the great amphitheater.

This tour offers exclusive access to the Colosseum’s arena floor, where gladiators once fought and died, where legends were born. Here, you’ll not only gain access to the Colosseum’s ground level and arena floor but also the mezzanine section, which boasts panoramic views of the Colosseum’s interior, including the Via Crucis and Emperor’s Pavilion below—a perfect place for an unforgettable photo opportunity.

Beyond the Colosseum, your expert guide will take you to Palatine Hill, where Rome’s emperors once lived. Here, you will see the Stadium of Domitian, the nearby Circus Maximus, and the ruins of imperial palaces—the views from Palatine Hill are indeed as glittering as Rome itself. From this breathtaking vantage you will descend Palatine Hill, through the shaded Farnese Gardens, past the Palace of Tiberius, down the Ramp of Domitian, and into the Roman Forum.

Once the political, commercial, and spiritual core of the Roman Empire, the Roman Forum remains one of the most culturally significant landmarks in the Western world. From the Temple of Castor and Pollux to the House of the Vestal Virgins, from the Temple of Julius Caesar to the Senate House, every step on this journey will bring you closer to Rome beyond the ruins.

Your journey with us continues among the Imperial Forums, or
Fori Imperiali, where your expert guide will lead you through the forums of Julius Caesar, Augustus, Nerva and Peace, and Trajan.

This Premier Experience concludes at the junction of Via dei Fori Imperiali and Via Cavour, the unofficial gateway to one of Rome’s most vibrant neighborhoods, Rione Monti. Ask your guide for restaurant recommendations, where to find the best gelato, or where to grab an aperitivo in this historic Roman neighborhood.
